Happy New Year!
I'm currently sitting in our classroom celebrating the end of 2010 with a beer and a stack of Pringles. Except here they aren't called Pringles, they're called Pringooooools! (Yes, multiple o's and all).
Apart from being the last day of the year, today was also the last day of our time in Palo Verde! Tomorrow we head off to San Jose and then to Las Cruces for our next set of research! I'm so excited to head to a new site! We've been told that Palo Verde is the slowest site for birding which would make me a very happy birder. For the last day in Palo Verde we took a boat tour on the Rio Tempisque. It was very exciting but I didn't get many pictures. It was highlighted by bird island (which was COVERED in nesting wood storks) and the slew of crocodiles that occupied the river.
Note: I do not know what internet will be like in the upcoming sites so there may not be a post for a bit. Hopefully I'll be as lucky as I was in Palo Verde.
Now ONWARD TO 2011!!!
